Real Nappy Starter Packs

Real Nappy Starter Packs with a retail value of over £70 were available to Highland Council residents for only  £15 (£5 for famiies using Healthy Start vouchers) between 2008 and 2011.

A total of 499 packs were distributed which resulted in a landfill reduction of 760 tonnes of waste as an estimated two thirds of the families who purchased a pack went on to use real nappies and cut their household waste - and bills.

Each pack contained a range of easy to use, modern washable nappies and everything else needed to try real nappies for your own baby. The pack – which took the form of a handy nappy bucket – included six different types of nappy and two different nappy covers, plus liners and accessories.
