Introduction
The term 'real nappies' covers all types of washable nappies that are reused over and over again, rather than being thrown away after a few hours use. These are also sometimes known as 'cloth' or 'reusable' nappies.

All the nappy ‘systems’ are made up of an absorbent part, usually cotton, which soaks up liquids, and a waterproof outer layer (a cover or ‘wrap’) to contain moisture. Most people also find it easier to use a liner to catch solids - flushable paper liners and washable fleece or cloth liners are available
A quick browse through any of the national parenting magazines will confirm the increasing awareness of and interest in real nappies, but why would you want to use them? For more information, read 'Benefits of Real Nappies'...
